Lunch at Radiance

The xiaolongbao at Koi Palace in Daly City is the standard by which I judge all dumplings. The xiaolongbao at the Radiance didn't come close in flavor (not enough ginger), and the skin was a little too thick, but that meant that they didn't break when you picked them up with your chopsticks and you could suck the soup out of the dumpling without missing a drop.

This one is in front of my office

I Hate Getting a Hair Cut

The Indians supposedly sold Manhattan to the settlers for $24 worth of beads and trinkets, but they are still living on the island because my head got scalped last night!

Now, I ask you, does that look like an inch of hair? That is a medium-sized binder clip.

Updated:
Just got back from a lunchtime tour of the Bloomberg offices in NY, courtesy of Colleen's brother, Jeff. Only one word can be used to described the offices: IMPRESSIVE! Twenty floors with a fishtank on almost every floor and 4000 employees. And I was this close to the president of Mongolia and Etonia. No pictures allowed, unfortunately.

Free and unlimited access to snacks galore. This was all I could sneak into my bag.

Feast of San Gennaro

Yesterday was the last day of the Feast of San Gennaro festival in Little Italy.

There were some people willing to pay 50 cents for a look at the snake woman, but I wasn't one of them. There is a sucker born every minute.

Holy Canoli, Batman!

Good Bye Charlotte, North Carolina

Left Charlotte, North Carolina Friday night, arriving in NY around 10:30 pm. It was a long day.

Charlotte, home of peanut shells thrown on restaurant floors, split checks, and spacious houses.

North Carolina, home of the first controlled powered airplane flight:

Charlotte

Went to Charlotte today to meet my co-workers from the East.

On my way out of the business complex, I realized I was driving around in circles after I passed the Child Development Center the second time. Apparently, you need to turn left at some point to exit.

Sundae #2, The Cookie Monster, from Cheddar's in Charlotte, yummy!

Dinner In Chinatown

My second trip to Chinatown. I found a hole in the wall on yelp and had my first decent cup of hot and sour soup with 10 "I hope they are pork" dumplings. I will give a shout out if you can guess how much I spent on my dinner.

Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast this morning--who put those raisins in my baklova?

Last night, I had bone marrow and oxtail marmalade on toast, sprinkled with sea salt. Those big white things are bones.

Ice Cream Sundae #1

There is a guy in New York who is blogging his efforts to eat a cheese pizza from every pizzeria in New York and its boroughs. I am on a personal quest to eat every ice cream sundae in New York.

This one is from Big Daddy's in the Upper East Side:
